Since July, NAGOMI has officially begun offering our organic Japanese teas at local markets in Australia. Riding the wave of the current global matcha boom, we are focusing on providing premium-quality organic teas, especially matcha.
Our mission is to deliver high-quality, organically grown Japanese tea to people around the world.
Due to the overwhelming popularity of matcha in recent years, supply has struggled to keep up with demand. As a result, poor-quality matcha has flooded the global market. Overseas, there are still few exporters who truly understand Japanese tea. In some cases, lower-grade products are intentionally sold, or even mixed with inferior leaves to reduce costs.
This is deeply concerning to us. We don’t want consumers to try low-quality matcha and form the wrong impression of what Japanese tea truly is. That’s why we work directly with farmers in Japan to source only the highest-quality teas and provide them fresh at local markets here in Australia.
It brings us great joy to see people in Australia enjoying authentic Japanese tea while also supporting their health and well-being.
Another goal we have is to use the matcha boom as a gateway — an introduction to the broader world of Japanese tea. Ending this trend with only matcha would be a missed opportunity. We want to share the depth and variety of Japanese teas, such as sencha, kukicha, and more. Japanese tea is not just matcha — and we’re passionate about communicating that truth every single day.
This is just the beginning. Our vision is to make high-quality Japanese tea a global staple — one that is appreciated not only for its flavor and health benefits but also for the culture and care behind it.
